"My mood right now is alive and thriving," Cater assures him. With the cramp at least temporarily defeated, he takes Idia's face in his hands and smothers him in smiling kisses. "You did amazing, seriously! I'm so smitten, you have no idea."
No matter how badly Idia's malware flares, Cater won't stop running his personal anti-viral programming to knock it back down again. This was so much more than just sex--he's honestly so proud of Idia. He really worked so hard to do something he didn't think he could do!
Between the kisses and praise, Idia's insecurity is mollified. His grumpy expression softens back into that little warm smile Cater loves so much. He put forth the effort, and even if he was a bit clumsy he still managed to make Cater feel really good. Funny how it brings out a sense of pride he usually only gets when he's written really complex code or built an intricate device. But that's what love is, isn't it? Finding pleasure in making someone else happy.
"I'm gonna get better. Gonna take time to work on increasing proficiency in this branch of the skill tree, but I know with you helping me I'll rank up fast." He nuzzles into Cater's neck with a satisfied huff. "Not like we can keep our hands off each other. I finally got why you kept making cracks about me being good with my hands, too. Slow on the uptake for being a genius, huh?"
Cater can't help it--at the admission, he bursts into a renewed round of giggling, causing Idia's body to bounce against him as he holds him close. "Seriously? I'd totally forgotten! OMG! I love you so much!"
He was already red-faced and breathless, so this just makes tears squeeze out of his eyes from the exertion. Still, he can't stop smiling. After a few more kisses he promises, "I'll get you some exercise diagrams. There are some really simple ones you can do at your desk while you're working, that way you don't have to move around your schedule to make time for it."
And then, unable to resist, also adds, "And just having more sex with me also counts as exercise, obvs."
Idia rolls his eyes but he still has that affectionate grin. "That's the only exercise I look forward to. But if I don't farm EXP in different zones then the payouts will start to stagnate. If I can do it while I'm doing other stuff, I guess I can handle it."
Sex with Cater is fun, it feels good, and best of all it brings them closer every time. Idia definitely has his answer about his sexuality now: he's 100% Cater-sexual, nobody else even pings on his HUD. And to think he almost missed out on all of this! Is this why the rest of his life sucked so badly, so that all his luck could add up to this one enormous jackpot? "I know you can handle it," he murmurs, so full of dopamine, so very, impossibly in love. Wrapped all the way around his boyfriend, he refuses to stop smiling. It's hard to believe how broken he'd felt not so long ago. How fake his happiness and optimism had been when now it comes so much more easily. The person he was and the person he pretended to be...they were coming together, embracing one another instead of trying to strangle the life out of each other.
